"The Double Bass Project" consists of the dynamic duo Afra Rubino on flamenco guitar and Peter Janson on double bass. They blend modern interpretations of traditional Andalusian melodies, original compositions, and improvisations. The history of flamenco comes alive with a contemporary twist, making time cease to exist.
Afra Rubino has studied in Andalusia with Spanish guitar masters and currently leads several flamenco-related ensembles.
Peter Janson has been active in the Swedish and international improvisation scene for over 30 years. Apart from his own projects, he has played with Ken Vandermark, Trilok Gurtu, Per-Henrik Wallin, Roland Keijser, Mats Gustavsson, Okay Temiz, Radiojazzgruppen, and Änglaspel, to name a few.
